JOB DESCRIPTION

The Operations Analyst position is focused on driving strategy and optimizing food service operations. In this role, you will consolidate data from numerous data sources, conduct analyses on factors that impact daily food service operations, and perform a wide range of other data-driven activities. You will work on site alongside operators, culinarians, dieticians, marketing, and finance team members to help them make data-driven adjustments in their business operations. You will play a key role in interfacing between internal and external stakeholders, performing analysis, and communicating findings.



CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and maintain the financial and operational state of all Food Services on campus including management and optimization of all financial support provided by Amazon to vendors
  • Drive optimization of the food services programs, optimizing both the financials as well as the customer experience
  • Manage compliance with standard operation procedures related to revenue planning, pricing, and expense (COGS & Labor) management  provided to food vendors
  • Oversee and manage the budgeting and forecasting process for all vendors
  • Manage monthly business performance reporting of food vendors and provide consolidated monthly performance report to Amazon
  • Manage guidelines and requirements for all hospitality training
  • Manage and facilitate communication process around services changes (hours of operations changes, service changes, etc.)
  • Manage compliance with branding and marketing guidelines
  • Manage FFE and asset expenditures against CapEx budget
  • Manage new construction processes for Food Services.
  • Retrieve and assess large volumes of data from clients and their source systems using SQL, R, and similar technologies
  • Map and trace data from various source systems in order to solve a given business problem
  • Analyze and mine business data to identify patterns and correlations among several data points using various statistical techniques
  • Promote the use of data and analytics to address business issues, including scoping projects, story-telling to stakeholder groups, brainstorming possible data-driven solutions, and incorporating analytical thinking into general business discussions.
  • Work closely with technical and non-technical resources to implement the results of analytics insights to realize business value
  • Assess and help guide current and future state of food service operations
  • Manage vendor compliance with SLAs and KPIs
  • Measure and monitor the impact of various initiatives implemented at food service locations
  • Create static and dynamic visualizations in Tableau to discover and communicate new insights
  • Create and communicate client-facing presentations on findings, business impacts, and recommendations


REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in business analytics, computer science, statistics, economics, or a related field
  • 2+ year of experience in quantitative, qualitative research and/or statistical/analytical techniques.
  • Contract food service operations knowledge/experience
  • Proficiency in 1 or more of the following toolkits: SQL, R, Tableau
  • Experience using data visualization tools, visual features of statistical software tools, and PowerPoint to communicate complex ideas to non-technical audiences
  • Experience presenting to non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to develop and own client relationships
  • Can share examples of using data to solve complex problems
