Consumer Insights Analyst

As a consumer insights analyst, you will be responsible for executing a variety of strategies and methodologies to understand, measure, and enhance the guest experience for our clients.  In this role, you will leverage insights and research to create actionable strategies for creative teams, culinary teams, operators, and business analysts. Your focus will be on leading the Voice of the Customer (VOC) program and deploying additional consumer insights methods as needed, such as syndicated market research and primary research (both quantitative and qualitative methods) to support strategic initiatives.


  • Turn consumer insights into actionable findings that move the business forward
  • Craft compelling stories from complex data to address key client business issues
  • Contribute to design, scoping, execution, and analysis of a variety of VOC projects and consumer research projects
  • Identify and implement innovative survey programming techniques and solutions to programming challenges
  • Determine and execute appropriate descriptive and basic inferential statistics
  • Manage all aspects of data collection for client surveys (distribution, quality control)
  • Develop survey reporting both in dashboards (Tableau) and for presentations (PowerPoint)
  • Develop written reports and PowerPoint presentations to convey findings and recommendations to clients, operators, business analysts, executive audiences and other stakeholder groups 
  • Conduct market research (using both syndicated data and primary research methods) to determine consumer preferences and identify improvement and growth opportunities 
  • Mine data from a variety of third-party research tools 
  • Execute both quantitative and qualitative research methods (e.g., surveys, conjoint studies, TURF analysis, focus groups, journey mapping)
  • Turn business questions into research questions, and research questions into methodologies


  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in social sciences, statistics, business, marketing, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience programming surveys in Qualtrics, Voxco, ConfirmIt, Survey Monkey, or related platform; experience with survey methodology and survey operations, such as survey design, survey distribution, and data analysis
  • 2+ years of full-time work or academic experience conducting research and analyzing data
  • 1+ year experience with at least one other consumer research methodology such as choice modeling, experimentation, focus groups, UX, or market research
  • Experience in consumer insights, ideally in the food, healthcare, or hospitality industries, is preferred
  • Experience with using and interpreting syndicated data sources (e.g., Nielsen, IRI) preferred
  • Experience with Excel, R/Python, and Tableau (or similar visualization tool) preferred
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Team-oriented but also highly self-sufficient and self-motivated
  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple projects at once and under time pressure
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills; Ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
